Still in his mid-twenties and having served his initial musical apprenticeship in grunge bands, Craig John Davidson, became a solo artist at the age of nineteen. In the intervening years he's released four albums, the most recent being, "The Last Laugh".

If you track the album titles through, "Soaked In Harm", "Curiosity" and "All In The Song", you get the impression of a troubled soul gradually finding peace with itself and the world around it, an impression that is only enforced as you listen to his label debut, "The Last Laugh".

It's been nearly three years since Craig's last album and a lot of that time has been spent gigging, both in his own right as well as supporting the likes of The Pines, The Needles and I Am Kloot. During that time he seems to have developed a sound that puts some clear, blue water between himself and other singer-songwriters of his ilk.

Whilst, "The Last Laugh" comes across as a positive album, you can't help but feel that it's also tinged with a little bitterness. There are aspects of this album that seem to be sticking two fingers up at people that would appear to have used phrases like, "You'll never amount to anything". It's definitely an album that proves that to be a lie.

Craig John Davidson is quite the song writer, his use of words, their arrangement and a setting that sits part way between folk and surf leads to an album that seeps into your consciousness as it holds your attention.
